Life can be challenging, and there may be times when you feel stuck, confused, or frustrated. Maybe you have anxiety from classes, or fear of the unknown, or have relationship issues, or maybe you are just overwhelmed by it all. While college and adulting can be very fun, it can get really exhausting with how much is expected of you from so many different places. Whether its work, school, parents, partners, friends, or social organizations, being pulled in so many directions at once can leave you feeling burnt out.
When you feel really stuck and overwhelmed, even the most enjoyable activities may start to feel like a chore, and it becomes harder and harder to rely on even the very best of friends. Some of us think our friends are tired of hearing us talk about where we are stuck. Some of us don’t want to feel like we are overwhelming to someone else. Some of us have spent so long keeping everything inside that the idea of talking to someone is unfamiliar-uncomfortable even. This can leave you feeling really alone and feeling like no one knows what you are going through. But you don’t have to do it alone! That’s what I am here for. Talking through these kinds of struggles is right up my alley. Therapy gives you the space to really find why you are stuck, and to share anything and everything on your mind. People often use therapy to voice thoughts and feelings they may find difficult to share with close friends and family. When we spend time learning to say things our loud that we have never felt comfortable saying, we can begin to imagine how to finally feel sturdy again. This process may look different for each person, but I am here to meet you where you are and to help you find clarity, traction, and purpose that aligns deeply with you as a person.
My goal is to create a safe and open space for you to express yourself freely, explore your thoughts and emotions, and truly feel heard – without fear of judgment. I specialize in working with college students and young adults, particularly in these feelings of being stuck, overwhelmed, and alone that show up in anxiety and depression. I also work with adults whose sturdiness, confidence, and sense of purpose have been impacted by life transitions. With kids, I work more with behavioral concerns, panic attacks, social skills, communication with parents, navigating family dynamics, and navigating changes throughout childhood and adolescence.
