Welcome to my page, and thank you for being here. I'd love to share a little about my approach to counseling and myself.

I take a person-centered, integrative approach to counseling, drawing from various therapeutic modalities to best meet the unique needs of each client. I believe every individual's experience is different, and my goal is to create a safe, nurturing environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings. I see my role as walking alongside you on your healing journey—not directing or rushing the process, but supporting you at your own pace. For me, healing is about embracing the complexities of life, sitting with discomfort, and learning to process and communicate emotions in a healthy way, rather than turning to harmful coping mechanisms.

A key aspect of my approach is fostering self-awareness and helping clients recognize the power that comes with it. By gaining insight into their patterns, thoughts, and behaviors, I encourage clients to embrace change as a natural part of personal growth. Together, we will identify and build on your unique strengths, which can boost your confidence and equip you to face life's challenges with resilience. I believe that self-awareness opens the door to meaningful transformation, empowering you to move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of yourself.

I joined Oakwood Roots in August 2022, initially as a graduate intern, and I’m grateful to continue my work here as a counselor under the supervision of Kanika Anglin, LPC-Supervisor. Before my time at Oakwood Roots, I worked in Massachusetts, where I supervised community outreach programs for at-risk youth and supported families through the Triple P (Positive Parenting Program). My counseling practice is trauma-informed and culturally sensitive, and I am a proud ally of the LGBTQI+ community. I primarily work with adolescents, young adults, and parents who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress management, and unhealthy communication patterns.
